SQUASH COACHING |

Coaching services are available from our Head Coach Chris Vine and can be booked direct or via the Office. A comprehensive Junior and Adult Program is in operation and is constantly evolving and expanding.
Head Squash Coach – Details: Chris has come from the “southern” end of Essex and has been working at the club since May 2004. He has the highest England Squash Coaching Award (Level 4 Professional) and has worked with all levels of player from beginner to top international over a twenty year period. He represented Bedfordshire at senior county level and age group O35, O45 for Essex. He also regularly tutors “coaches” awards and conducts refereeing and marking seminars for prospective new game officials.
Junior Coaching: The Junior Coaching program has been in operation for the last twelve months and now numbers 40!! – most of the children involved have come from the local primary schools after a 6 week Mini Squash Development Program conducted as part of the curriculum. Progress over that twelve month period has been rapid and a number of the juniors have been asked to attend county junior training sessions. The minimum age for joining the junior program is 7 for both boys and girls and group coaching sessions take place during the week and are graded according to standard from beginner to advanced (prospective county standard).
The Junior Program is undergoing a comprehensive review at the moment and it is hoped that a Parents Support Group can be formed to assist with the increasingly demanding nature of the Junior Squash at Frinton.
New participants are always welcome and interested parties are asked to contact the Club Office in the first instance and leave details – Chris Vine will then be in touch to discuss which group would be the most appropriate and to discuss fees.
As the program evolves new opportunities for squash camps, junior friendlies, junior league matches, and junior tournaments are being created all the time, in liaison with Club Squash Representative Chris Blease and in the next few months the “Junior Support Group”.
Adult Coaching:
Mixed Club Night: At the moment we have an “all standard” Mixed Club Night on a Monday evening starting at 8pm – costing just £5 for two hours!! – more players are always welcome as numbers attending vary from 7 to 12 players! – from these players new men’s teams have been formed to play friendlies and also in the future – league teams.
Ladies Morning: Sessions take place on Friday mornings on a six week course basis at just £30 (one week free!!) – again for all standards. This is a recreational/coaching group session and there are always places for new ladies!!
Ladies Training: This takes place on a Tuesday evening for players of team (and prospective team) standard from 6 – 7.30pm every week, dependent upon the match schedule. Our ladies First team plays in Division One of the Suffolk League and we are looking to start a new ladies team to play in Division Two of the league next winter 06. Individual Lessons:
These are always available for 45 minute periods at mutually appropriate times, either daytimes or evenings – bookable direct via Chris Vine
Coaching Charges:
Individual Sessions:
£18 for 45 minutes – seniors £12 for 30 minutes – juniors
Cancellations:
Cancellations more than 24hours before the agreed time will incur no further charge. Should a lesson be cancelled within 24 hours of the agreed time, a cancellation fee will be payable. No show lessons incur the full charge applicable.
