TENNIS COACHING

CHRIS HARRIS (USPTR Professional, CCA

Licensed Coach)

Chris has been Head Coach at Frinton since 1997. Having competed at county and national level, Chris gained extensive coaching experience in Europe and America.

 

JILL FELSTEAD (BTCA Professional Coach)

Jill has been a member of the coaching staff for three years, joining us from a long coaching association with Zimbabwe tennis.

 

LEE AUSTIN  (USPTR Intermediate Coach)

Lee is the newest member of the coaching staff. A former Frinton junior champion, Lee has coached in Greece and brings great enthusiasm to the coaching team.

A comprehensive junior coaching structure operates year round. Term time (after school) groups run January to December as well as holiday coaching  groups during the mornings.

 

Munchkins

For young players starting tennis, aged 5 - 7.  Ball sense, co-ordination and basic strokeplay. Emphasis on fun!

 

Beginners

For players able to  bump rally in the short court. Development of all basic strokes and rallying. Aged 7 - 9 approx.

 

Improvers

For players able to rally on at least 3/4  court and serve over-arm competently.  Emphasis on matchplay.

 

Development Squad

Full court tennis for players with a good all-round game who are starting to compete in tournaments. Emphasis on matchplay . (Invitation only).

 

Tournament Squad/Performance Squad

For players who are serious about their tournament play. Emphasis on matchplay, spin and physical conditioning. (Invitation only).

 

Mini Academies

The Club selects our most promising young players to take part in Academy training sessions.  Academy members compete against other clubs in team matchplay.

 

Ladies Groups are run during the mornings as well as coaches being available for individual lessons.

 

Coaches are available for individual lessons bookable through Chris Harris or Jill / Lee.

Lee Austin     Individual Lessons      1 hour - £19, 1/2 hour - £10

 

Cancellation:  A charge will be payable for cancellation within 24 hours.

“No-show’s” will incur the full amount.
